White-hat Shopify link building that editors choose to give

Links from journalists, trade publications, suppliers and manufacturers, earned with data and stories worth citing. No link farms, no private blog networks, no bulk guest-post packages. One client went from DR 12 to DR 41 in 100 days.

Why stores get stuck

Good pages, no authority

Issue 01

Stuck on page two

The collection pages are better than the competition. The competition has ten years of links. Content alone rarely closes that gap.

Issue 02

Cheap link packages

Sites that exist to sell links. Google’s spam policies name this directly. Best case the links are ignored; worst case you get a manual action.

Issue 03

Links only hit the homepage

Every press mention points at the home page, so authority never reaches the collections that actually rank for buying keywords.

Issue 04

Known on Amazon, invisible on the web

Amazon-first brands often have thousands of reviews and almost no editorial mentions. Google and AI assistants have nothing to go on.

Issue 05

Anchor text that looks bought

Dozens of exact-match anchors like "best electric bike" from unrelated sites. It reads as manipulation because it is.

Issue 06

No reporting

A monthly invoice and a vague DR chart. No list of the actual URLs, anchors and target pages.

Sources

Where our links come from

Every link we build is one a real editor or partner decided to give. We point them at the pages that make money, not only the homepage.

  • Digital PR: data-led stories pitched to journalists and category editors
  • Supplier and manufacturer links: component makers, distributors and dealer pages
  • Trade and niche publications that cover your category
  • Buying guides and cost studies that bloggers cite as a source
  • Unlinked brand mentions turned into links
  • Reviews and expert roundups in your niche

Process

How a link campaign runs

  1. Profile and gap audit

We review your backlinks and the top three competitors in Ahrefs and Semrush: who links to them, to which pages, and what you are missing.

  2. Pick target pages

Collections and guides close to page one get priority. A link that moves a page from position 9 to 4 is worth more than one that moves the homepage nowhere.

  3. Build the asset

A dataset, a cost study, a sizing tool or an expert guide. Something that earns the link on its own merit.

  4. Outreach

Personal pitches to journalists, editors, suppliers and partners. No mass templates sprayed at thousands of inboxes.

  5. Report every link

Each link logged with URL, referring domain, anchor text and target page, plus the ranking change on that page.

Case study

Chinese tech brand, industrial hobbyist niche

A relatively new site with a weak link profile, in SERPs crowded with product packs and video packs. We fixed technical SEO and schema, built hundreds of pages, then started link building.

Link building that holds up

DR is a symptom, not the goal#

Domain Rating is an Ahrefs metric. Google doesn't use it. We report it because it is a quick read on link strength, but the numbers that matter are positions on buying keywords, clicks and revenue. In the case above, DR went from 12 to 41 in 100 days, and that site grew to $150,000+ in organic revenue in four months. Bing drove $25,000+ of it. Another Shenzhen client, Willis, went from DR 12 to DR 35 in 90 days and reached page one for a keyword with 74,000 searches a month.

What digital PR looks like for a product brand#

Journalists need stories. A store has data they can't get elsewhere: what sells in which region, which sizes people buy, which questions customers ask before spending $3,000. We turn that into a short study with a clear headline, pitch it to the editors who cover the category, and point the resulting links at a guide or collection page.

Most brands overlook links they are already owed. Motor makers, battery suppliers, fabric mills, distributors and retail partners often run "where to buy" or partner pages. For Chinese brands working with a supply chain in Shenzhen or Dongguan, these relationships are often the fastest relevant links available.

What we won't do#

No private blog networks, no paid link farms, no bulk guest-post marketplaces, no hacked or expired-domain tricks. We also won't promise a number of links per month. Editorial links don't arrive on a schedule, and anyone selling them that way is selling the wrong kind.

How it's priced#

Link building and digital PR are priced separately from our monthly SEO plans because costs depend on the niche and the assets needed. Most clients start with technical SEO and content, then add links once there are pages worth pointing them at. See pricing for how plans are structured.

FAQ

Link building questions

Is link building included in your monthly SEO plan?

No. Backlinks are available at extra cost because the work varies so much by niche. Our monthly plans cover keyword research, collection pages, content, technical fixes, schema and internal links. Many stores see strong gains from that alone. When competitors have a clear authority advantage, we scope a separate link and digital PR campaign.

What does white-hat link building mean in practice?

It means every link comes from a real site whose editor or owner chose to link because the content or relationship deserved it. No payments for placement disguised as editorial, no private blog networks, no automated link schemes. Google’s spam policies describe these practices clearly, and we stay well away from them.

How many links will we get per month?

We don’t sell a fixed count. Editorial links depend on the story, the niche and how journalists respond. What we commit to is the work: assets built, outreach sent and every resulting link reported with its target page. Quality and relevance move rankings far more than volume does.

How fast will our Domain Rating go up?

It varies. One client went from DR 12 to DR 41 in 100 days, and another from DR 12 to DR 35 in 90 days, but both had strong pages ready to receive links. DR is an Ahrefs score, not a Google one, so we track it alongside the positions and revenue that actually matter.

Can you build links to collection pages instead of the homepage?

Yes, and that is usually the goal. Collection pages rank for the buying keywords that make money, so we pick target pages that are close to page one and build links to them directly or through guides that link into them. Internal links then spread that authority across related collections.
