# Amazon to Shopify: a brand site that ranks on its own

You are not leaving Amazon. You are building the asset Amazon cannot take away: a Shopify store that Google ranks, ChatGPT cites and buyers find when they search your brand. We have done this for Amazon-first brands from Shenzhen to New York.

## Why pasting Amazon listings into Shopify fails

### Titles written for Amazon search

A 200-character title stuffed with every keyword ranks on Amazon. On Google it reads as spam and truncates in the results.

### Duplicate copy, and Amazon wins

Paste your bullets and description onto Shopify and Google sees the same text on amazon.com, a far stronger domain. Your own page loses to your own listing.

### A+ content Google cannot read

A+ modules are mostly images with the words baked in. Uploaded to Shopify as images, they carry almost no text for Google or AI assistants to read.

### Browse nodes are not collections

Amazon category paths do not match what buyers type into Google. A Shopify store needs collections built on buyer keywords.

### Zero reviews on day one

Thousands of Amazon reviews, none on the brand site. The product page looks untested next to competitors with star ratings in the results.

### A brand nobody can verify

No about page, no address, no founders, no press. Google and AI assistants have little to confirm the brand is real and trustworthy.

## An Amazon listing and a Shopify product page are different jobs

| | Amazon listing | Shopify brand site |
|---|---|---|
| URL | amazon.com/Brand-Long-Keyword-Title/dp/B0XXXXXXXX | brand.com/products/product-name |
| Title | Up to about 200 characters of keywords | Clear product name plus one key attribute |
| Description | Five bullets and a short description | Specs, use cases, FAQs, comparisons, care and warranty |
| Brand content | A+ modules, mostly images with text | Crawlable text, alt text and structured data |
| Categories | Amazon browse nodes | Collections built on buyer keywords |
| Reviews | Amazon reviews, stay on Amazon | Your own reviews with Product schema |
| Brand store | amazon.com/stores/Brand/page/... | Homepage, about page, collections and guides |

## From Amazon catalog to ranking brand site

1. **Export the catalog properly** (Week 1): We start from your inventory file or listing report: parent and child ASINs, variation themes, attributes, images and A+ assets. That becomes clean Shopify products with variants.

2. **Research Google keywords, not Amazon keywords** (Weeks 1 to 2): Amazon search terms and Google queries overlap less than sellers expect. We build the collection list from what ranks on page one of Google for your products.

3. **Rewrite for search and for trust** (Weeks 2 to 6): Native-English product copy, new titles, specs as text, FAQs from real customer questions. A+ images are rebuilt as crawlable sections with alt text.

4. **Make the brand verifiable** (Weeks 2 to 4): About page, contact details, company facts, trademark and brand story that match what you show in Brand Registry and on social profiles.

5. **Launch, then publish every month** (Month 2 onward): Collection pages, buying guides and comparisons go live monthly, with schema and internal links, reported against Search Console and Shopify revenue.

## An Amazon-first brand with 30 products
- **~100,000** Organic visits a month
- **$758,772.94** Organic revenue in 7 months
- **+$100,000** Extra revenue a month
- **$54,000+** Monthly traffic value

## Brand Registry, A+ content and reviews: what to reuse

Amazon sellers already own most of the raw material a brand site needs. The trick is knowing what to reuse and what to rewrite.

### Brand Registry and brand facts

Brand Registry requires a registered or pending trademark, and your brand store and A+ content carry your brand story. Reuse the facts: the exact brand name, trademark, founding year, company name and product lines. Keep them identical on your Shopify about page, footer, Organization schema and social profiles. Consistent facts help Google and AI assistants recognize your brand as one entity. For Chinese brands this matters twice, because the company name on the trademark is often different from the brand name buyers know. Our [brand trust](/chinese-brands/brand-trust/) work covers this in depth.

### A+ content reuse pitfalls

Do not upload A+ modules as images and call it done. Take the claims, comparisons and specs out of the images and write them as text on the page, with the images kept for design and given proper alt text. Rewrite the wording too. The same paragraph on amazon.com and on your site is a contest your site usually loses.

### Reviews

Your Amazon reviews stay on Amazon. Copying them onto your site as if they were your own reviews breaks trust, and Google's review snippet guidelines exclude ratings aggregated from other websites from your markup. Collect reviews on your own store from day one with post-purchase emails and a review app, and link to your Amazon store if you want buyers to see the history.

### Keep selling on Amazon

A brand site does not replace Amazon for most sellers. Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment can ship Shopify orders from your FBA stock, so you do not need a second warehouse to start. What changes is who owns the customer, the email list and the search result.

## Frequently asked questions

### Should an Amazon seller build a Shopify store?

If you have a real brand, a catalog with some depth and price points that leave margin after content costs, usually yes. A Shopify site gives you customer data, email, brand search results and a page that Google and AI assistants can cite. Small catalogs with low prices are harder to justify, which is why we check fit before taking the work.

### Can I copy my Amazon listings to my Shopify store?

You can import the product data, but the copy should be rewritten. Amazon titles and bullets are written for Amazon search, and identical text on amazon.com usually outranks your own site. We keep the facts, rewrite the wording in native English, add specs, FAQs and comparisons, and build titles for Google results.

### Can I show my Amazon reviews on my Shopify store?

You can link to your Amazon store so buyers see your review history, but importing Amazon reviews as your own is a trust and policy risk, and Google does not allow ratings aggregated from other sites in your review markup. Start collecting reviews on your own store from the first order with post-purchase emails and a review app.

### How long does a new brand site take to get Google traffic?

Brand-new domains with no authority take longer than established ones. In our experience, a fresh site with consistent publishing starts seeing meaningful traffic within a few months; one Amazon seller client in New York reached 500 to 700 visits a day from Google within a few months. Results depend on competition, catalog and links.

### Do I need to stop using FBA if I sell on Shopify?

No. Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment can ship orders from your Shopify store using the inventory you already hold in FBA. Many sellers start this way and move to a separate warehouse or 3PL later. The SEO work is the same either way: collection pages, product pages, guides and schema built for Google.
